You might not be able to appreciate this in the English dubbed version though since the characters talk so freaking fast.

The dimensions aspect to the story adds a mistifying feel to the game, as it really feels like an otherworldly adventure full of twists and turns. The story is interesting, involving multiple dimensions that you travel through in order to save the day. It's the last game in a renouned JRPG series, doomed to obscurity due to it being on the DS and not being talked about a lot. Here's another interesting case for a game. Highly recommended if you have a homebrewed Wii with Nintendont installed so you can run it on it's original hardware! Please support the official release.

With the undub patch though, the game becomes far more immersive and the story far more compelling. You might not be able to appreciate the game's compelling story though, due to the hilariously bad voice acting. The story is also very interesting and well-written, which you should expect since it was handled by Xenoblade developer, Monolith Soft. It's not a card game though, since there's a full world to explore full of beautiful pre-rendered background and a story to play through. With it's card system, the gameplay feels completely unique to any other JRPG I've played, especially since it's card mechanics are different from other card games as well. The card system is fairly complex and very addicting. The following 3 games are fantastic JRPGs that were saved by gracious fan undub patches.īaten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean- Gamecubeīaten Kaitos is an interesting game in that it's an active-time battle system JRPG with a card system. Interestingly though, there have been fan efforts to create undub patches, which replace the horrible English voice acting in these games with the original Japanese audio with English text intact. Voice acting in some games can be so bad that it completely changes the tone of the game's story and makes it hard to take it seriously or be immersed in the game. It's a huge blemish on an otherwise incredible experience. Among them though, there are some games with atrocious voice acting.
